Z PASS ALIASES

Keep your real email private.

Use a different forwarding address for every site. Messages sent to an alias reach your real inbox, while your actual email address stays hidden from the other side.

◉Limits breaches

If a service is breached, your real email address isn't exposed.

⊘Stops spam

If unwanted messages arrive, you can just turn off that alias.

⌁Reduces tracking

Makes it harder for different sites to match you up through a shared address.

What is an email alias?

An alias is a forwarding address linked to your real email account. Websites see the alias; incoming mail is forwarded by the service to your real inbox. An alias is not a password and does not grant direct access to your account.

How is it used?

  1. When creating a new login in Z Pass, turn on the Create alias option.
  2. Choose a title describing the service and save the generated address.
  3. Sign up on the website with the alias instead of your real address.
  4. If spam or suspicious activity occurs, disable that alias.

Is an alias the same as "+addressing"?

No. The real part of an address like [email protected] can be easily figured out. A separate alias doesn't directly contain your real address and can be disabled independently.

Safe usage

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I turn off an alias?

New messages will no longer be forwarded to that address. Don't turn it off before updating your email on the related site.

Can I reply using an alias?

Reply support depends on the forwarding infrastructure used. When Z Pass offers this feature, it will be clearly shown in the app.
